Long Bead Chains - Photo Journey

Just browsing through photos looking for something else, and thought, "I should share these!"

Counting up the 1000 chain!

Drawing it afterward - elementary children

sample of elementary work with the long chains

the lighting was bad ;)
1000 chain from my student teaching days
I still have that skirt!
And I still remember the happiness of the boy
who worked on this presentations
- the TRUE self-esteem -
the pride he took in his work
the complete turn-around in his behavior
having been given some REAL work to do.
5 1/2 year old SO PROUD of his BIG WORK
(this boy did this work BY HIMSELF!)
It was probably one of the most fulfilling things
he had done in his life to that date!)

  1. Wonderful work! I bet my son would love drawing his work with the chains. It never even crossed my mind before to suggest this. Thank you so much for sharing!

    1. The funny thing with the drawing is - some children don't want to - but this particular group of children LOVED to draw and would spend all day doing it if I let them. Because that particular group was a homeschool group only coming for a once a week session, they were given the guidelines that they could draw, but it had to be a work they had done appropriately first (and they could certainly embellish their drawings too!). It worked great, because the parents had immediate feedback as to what they did, they could talk about it at home, and continue reinforcing those concepts. :)

I'll be posting more of some of their artwork in the coming weeks - not much, just some here and there. I really enjoyed this group of children :)

    1. Thank you! I just wish I had more! I am S-l-o-w-l-y training myself to keep the camera at hand with fresh batteries at all times - like I did when Legoboy was a baby ;)

There is SO much more I would have loved to add this post, but I'll just have to do a part two later!
